History
The Sudd Institute was established in Juba in 2012 by a team of leading South Sudanese policy analysts and social scientists with backgrounds in government, anthropology, statistical research, community organizing, and international organizations. The Institute is governed by an independent board of directors. The Institute’s positioning as an independent policy institute headquartered in South Sudan ensures that its findings are relevant, action-oriented, evidence-based, and unencumbered by individual interests and agendas.
