Biography Luka Biong Deng is a Professor of Peace, Development, and Security Studies at the University of Juba, former Senior Research Consultant/Associate and current Managing Director, both at the Sudd Institute. He served in various capacities in the governments of Sudan and South Sudan and with think-tanks around the world. Dr. Deng holds a Ph.D. in Development Studies from the Institute of Development Studies (IDS), University of Sussex, UK.
